About Us

Methow Valley FoodShed is a food hub with an online market and self-serve farmstand located in North-Central WA on the eastern slopes of the North Cascades. Through our online store, locally grown and crafted food from a variety of regional farms and food producers can be ordered and picked up weekly in Winthrop and Twisp. Our self-serve farmstand offers 24/7 access to local food and operates on the honor system. The farmstand is located at 521 State Route 20 in Winthrop.

How it Works

Online Store:

  • Subscribe to our weekly emails
  • Each week, order from our online store before 11 pm Tuesday
  • Pick up your order in Winthrop or Twisp anytime after 9am on Friday (we recommend picking up over the weekend for maximum freshness!)
  • Enjoy eating delicious food grown and produced nearby!

Self-Serve Farmstand:

Methow Valley FoodShed Producers

BCS Livestock: The Smiths raise and sell 100% natural, grass-fed beef, lamb and wool products. By using a holistic management style they ensure their livestock is healthy and happy, and practicing regenerative grazing techniques allows them to improve and restore the land so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Booth Canyon Orchards is a certified organic orchard south of Twisp. Farmers Stina and John cultivate soil vitality and plant diversity, growing a wide variety of apples, pears, peaches and plums. In recent years they have also expanded their business to include making cider, showcasing the unique, dry and complex flavors of their heirloom fruit.

Double Tree Farm is a WSDA licensed Grade-A dairy located in Twisp. Farmer Sam maintains a milking a herd of 10 to 15 Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, and the cows raise their own calves until they are weaned at 3-4 months of age. The herd is milked once a day and given a 100% grass diet. Cows are grazed in a rotational grazing system in the summer, with regenerative agriculture practices at the heart of their grazing system. In the winter, the milking herd has access to high-quality, locally-grown hay.

Graveyard Point Fish/Walking Rose: Fisherfolk and farmers Anna, Joe and Marin spend their summers setnet fishing as a family in Bristol Bay, AK, pulling nets into their skiff by hand and overseeing the journey of wild salmon from sea to table. Bristol Bay is home to a sockeye population that has been steadily increasing for over 50 years, and they are glad they can bring this sustainably harvested staple home to the Methow.

Groovy Veggie Farm: Young farmers Adam and Christine specialize in growing a diverse array of vegetables and medicinal herbs on their farm outside Winthrop. They are passionate about connecting to the land, and in addition to selling groovy veggies, they also make herbal products like teas, tinctures and body care goods.

Posterity Farm is a 20-acre farm south of Twisp where farmers Amanda and Miles raise turkeys and grow a wide array of both fresh-cut and dried flowers. They are committed to using sustainable practices and to feeding their community affordable, nutritious food.

Twisp River Grain & Mill: Farmers Neil and Kasey Gibb specialize in growing unique grains, pastured eggs, and baking handcrafted sourdough bread.

Wild Plum Farm is a small family farm outside of Winthrop raising heritage breed pigs and chickens naturally, humanely and sustainably.
